Planning & Wealth Strategy · Central Coast, California

A written financial plan, for one flat fee.

We don't manage your money. We don't sell products, and we don't earn commissions on what you own. From our office in Arroyo Grande, we build business owners and families across San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast a complete, written financial plan as a CPA engagement through Rohr & Associates, Inc., and then you decide what to do with it. If your plan calls for specific investment or allocation advice, that work is engaged and billed separately through Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC, a California registered investment adviser also owned by Daniel Rohr, CPA/PFS, EA, M.S. Tax.

Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC

Investment advice, when your plan requires it, is delivered through our registered investment adviser.

Where the line sits

A CPA plan first. The RIA only when it's needed.

Plenty of CPAs give investment advice they aren't registered to give. We took the other path, and we keep the line between the two roles clear on purpose.

The written plan is a CPA engagement. Through Rohr & Associates, Inc., we handle tax strategy, entity structure, cash flow, retirement contributions, education funding, estate coordination, and insurance needs analysis. That is planning work a CPA firm performs, and it is what this page is about.

Investment advice is a separate engagement. The moment the conversation turns to specific securities, a target allocation, or what to actually buy and hold, that requires investment adviser registration. At that point Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC steps in under its own written agreement and its own fee. Nothing gets bundled quietly.

The practical result for you is one advisor who already knows your return, your business, and your family, operating under the right license for whichever conversation you're having.

Scope

What the plan covers.

Financial Planning

A full written plan that maps where you are, where you're going, and the specific moves between here and there.

Retirement Planning

Strategies to maximize retirement savings, optimize Social Security timing, and build a durable income stream.

Tax Planning

The part most planners outsource and get wrong. Here it's the same person who prepares the return.

Estate Planning

We review your wills, trusts, and estate documents and work alongside your attorney so the plan holds together.

Education Funding

Planning and saving for future education costs, including 529 accounts and the tax treatment around them.

Insurance Planning

An honest look at what coverage your plan actually requires, with referrals to licensed professionals. We sell nothing.

Included in the plan

  • Generic, education-level allocation ranges appropriate to your age, time horizon, and risk tolerance
  • Modeling of savings rates, retirement timing, and cash flow under different assumptions
  • Account-type strategy: which buckets to fund first and in what order, for tax efficiency
  • Coordination with your existing advisor, attorney, and insurance professional

Not included

  • Recommendations on specific securities, funds, or tickers
  • A target portfolio built for your individual accounts
  • Ongoing management, monitoring, or rebalancing of investments
  • Placing trades or implementing anything on your behalf

Anything in the second column is investment advisory work. Where your plan needs it, we say so plainly and open a separate engagement through Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC (CRD #332018), a separately registered investment adviser.

How it works

Five steps, no mystery.

01

The conversation

A detailed interview about your goals, your concerns, and what's actually keeping you up at night. Complimentary, and there's no obligation after it.

02

The intake

A structured questionnaire covering income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and risk tolerance, so we're working from a complete picture rather than a partial one.

03

The document review

Tax returns, bank and investment statements, insurance policies, estate documents. We read them all before we form an opinion.

04

The written plan

A written report with specific recommendations, delivered and walked through with you. You are under no obligation to act on any of it.

05

The follow through

Every recommendation becomes a tracked task with an owner and a due date. We nudge, you check things off, and the plan actually gets done.

The difference

A plan you finish, not a binder you shelve.

Most financial plans fail at the same point. The advice is sound, the document is thorough, and then nothing happens. A year later the conversation opens with, "so how did those ten action items go?" and everyone already knows the answer.

We built the engagement around the part that usually gets dropped. Every recommendation in your plan is loaded into accountability software with an owner, a due date, and automated reminders. You see exactly what's open, what's done, and what's coming.

Every item is tracked

Update the beneficiary, open the Roth, raise the umbrella coverage. Each one is a discrete task, not a bullet buried on page 34.

Reminders do the nagging

You get prompted on a schedule that fits the task, so momentum doesn't depend on you remembering in month seven.

We see the same board

Nothing quietly stalls for a year. If an item sits open, we know, and we pick up the phone rather than wait for the annual review.

Progress is the deliverable

The measure of a good plan isn't its page count. It's how many of the recommendations are actually finished twelve months later.

Fees

Published, flat, and quoted before we start.

You'll know the number before you sign anything. Fees are never deducted from your accounts, and we're never paid a commission on a product you buy.

Comprehensive plan

$6,000 to $10,000

A one-time flat fee for a full written financial plan, engaged through Rohr & Associates, Inc. The exact figure depends on complexity and scope, and it is quoted and memorialized in your agreement before work begins.

Signature members

Included

A personal financial plan is part of the Signature advisory membership. Any investment advice the plan calls for is engaged separately through Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC. See memberships.

Five-day right to cancel. You have five business days after signing to cancel for a full refund. If a separate investment advisory engagement with Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC is opened, its fee is quoted and agreed in writing before that work begins.

Honest scope

What we don't do.

A planning-first practice has a shorter list of conflicts than a firm that manages your money. Here is what stays off the table, in either entity.

  • Manage your portfolio or hold discretion over your accounts
  • Take custody of your funds or securities
  • Recommend individual stocks or bonds
  • Sell insurance or investment products
  • Earn a commission on anything you buy
  • Deduct our fees from your investment accounts

When your plan calls for specific investment advice, that is a separate written engagement with Rohr Financial Advisors, LLC. When it calls for someone to actually manage the assets, we refer you to an investment manager. If you choose OneDigital Investment Advisors and they become your investment adviser, Daniel Rohr receives a referral fee from them, which is a conflict of interest disclosed to you in writing before you invest a dollar. You are never obligated to use them, or to act on any recommendation in your plan.

Where we work

Built for Central Coast business owners and families.

Our office sits at 1277 E Grand Ave in Arroyo Grande, and most of the families and business owners we plan for live within a short drive: San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Nipomo, the Five Cities, Santa Maria, and Paso Robles. Meetings happen in person here, or over video when that is easier.

Planning on the Central Coast has its own texture. Closely held businesses, agriculture and hospitality income, appreciated California real estate, and families deciding whether to retire here or somewhere with a friendlier tax code. We have worked in this county since 1998, and the plan reflects that.

We also serve clients elsewhere in California and out of state. Distance is rarely the constraint; the fit of the engagement is.
